August 7, 2014 update: Yup, Gandra's now a Goodra. How? Well, originally, I had this great big storyline plotted out with another friend of mine, but since said friend ended up not coming onto dA after all, I've decided to just skip ahead to the end result of it that I'd been aiming for the whole time. (It's just another romance, though you can also read what details there might have been in her updated personality and history sections below.) Now both of my NPC sheets are the same size~!

Surprise! New Personal NPC! To be honest, I wasn't planning on making another one at first, but then two factors happened. First, was the fact that it's been pretty hard for Amy to nail down new friends lately that won't up and leave the group in a few weeks or months. And the second was, well...I actually was going to make a collab team for PMD-U (*gasp*), but then my collab partner had to up and quit dA. And it seemed like a shame for me to just throw away such a fascinating chararcter, so I brought Gandra back as a PoA NPC from the Pae'aina tribes! My 1st favorite nationality, Native Americans, is already taken by Amy, and Ryoshi and his family already fill my 2nd favorite, Japan, so I might as well go with my 3rd favorite, Pacific Islanders!

Personality:

The first thing you'd notice about Gandra is that she's not only kind; she's very, very smart, listening in on anything she can learn about the outside world. Her speech even reflects it, using complex words as easily as normal ones. She's also very curious about it; tending to wander off to explore new things that pique her curiosity, and loves experimenting with planting berries and crossing them to see what new varieties come up. In fact, she's the type who is never satisfied with just resting on her laurels; almost always willing to help people out if they need help, especially if they're hurt and in dire need of medical assistance. As a result, she's also not that concerned about punctuality. (Not that being punctual was a very important trait in medieval times, anyway...)

Now that she's evolved and finally regained her sight back, not to mention gained arms and legs, she's starting to take a new interest in life, and especially so in both surfing and hula dancing; the latter of which was very hard for her to perform until her evolution, which she is only too happy to teach to Amy and Lolly. She loves Syaoran Arthur, her Garchomp boyfriend, and wants to help him be happy in this new kingdom they both call home.

History:

Gandra was born on Karumba Island not too far away from the main continent of Avalon and lived there nearly her whole life. She actually was a Goomy for quite a number of years, in which she not only learned the customs of her people, such as canoe building, oceanic navigation, surfing, farming, fishing, and even the hula (despite the obvious difficulties of a Goomy doing the hula), but was never satisfied with just the basics; always pushing herself to learn more and do more about them all.

Soon she had memorized her way around all the islands in the sea, and even the mainland. At the age of 25, she not only met Solum the Golurk, but she evolved into a Sliggoo and lost her sight because of it, though she thought she could evolve into a Goodra after that if it rained. The islands, sure, were rainy, but unfortunately...for some strange reason, she never could evolve. At first, she took this badly, thinking she'd never regain her sight back again, but when she got ahold of her new moisture-based sensing system, she realized that it could actually help her see where things were way better than her sight ever could. Now she's come to terms with her new sensory system, and sometime even worries that if she somehow does manage to evolve, she'll lose it all and have to get used to the concept of seeing again.

At 33, though, in the aftermath of a certain shockwave that swept across the land, she became surprised and shocked at how certain Pokemon are now suddenly part Fairy-type. Even worse, however, during the Day Everything Changed, she, too, was negatively affected like all the other Dragon-type Pokemon on the island, and nearly ended up killing a sick Gardevoir whom she was trying to treat...who happened to be the wife of King Kahikilani, the shiny Gallade who ruled Karumba Island. Though Gandra couldn't control it and tried to convince the king of this, Kahikilani obviously wouldn't believe her, and it was only thanks to a fast friend of hers that she was able to escape from being killed by him.

Wanting answers as to where and how this phenomenon occurred, as well as some way to explain that it wasn't her and the dragons' fault that they happened to rampage that day, she ended up getting them from coming of a certain Jigglypuff and Mawile, as well as her recent move to the kingdom of Aether. After she found out as much as she could, Amy and Ryoshi helped her face King Kahikilani again and convince him of the truth in Return to Karumba Island.

She then stayed at Karumba Island for another month so that she and her family could enjoy their newfound vindication before deciding that not only she wanted to go back to Aether to learn more about it, but to help Amy and Ryoshi, who had decided to start a family of their own.

One day, she ran into a Gible whose real name was Syaoran, but who called himself Arthur. He had recently thawed from being frozen in ice for thousands of years, and she helped him get used to the present day era. Through a series of adventures, they were able to learn more about each other, and Syaoran Arthur eventually became strong enough to evolve all the way into a Garchomp. By this point, Gandra loved him so much that she wished she could evolve so that the first person she ever saw was him, and as fate would have it, Syaoran Arthur figured out the way to help Gandra finally evolve.

Now, the two of them live in their own house pretty much right next to Ryoshi and Amy's, and continue to be good friends with them all. Gandra is happy that she ever came to Aether and met Syaoran Arthur, not to mention Amy and Ryoshi, who made this wonderful life all possible for her.

Move Set:

Sludge Bomb – Gandra hacks up a poisonous blob of gunk and sends it shooting to the opponent, which can dissolve a lot of things. Very useful Fairy-type repellent.

Dragon Pulse – A pulse of energy that's related to Gandra's type is shot from her mouth. One of her most powerful attacks.

Thunderbolt – Apparently, she can conjure up a bunch of static electricity in her slimy body and shoot it out to zap enemies, especially aggressive Water-types.

Ice Beam – She can also chill her breath and shoot it as a beam to an opponent. She mainly uses it to help people cool off in the intense summer heat of her island.
