:star: History: :star:

They say that when Blune was born back on Planet Paion, his parents knew that he would be one of the smartest beings there ever lived…probably due to his unusually large head at the time. Nevertheless, little Blune would go on to prove that he truly was smart in more ways than one, and learned material at a much faster rate than expected. In particular, he showed an intense fascination for the natural world and a desire to learn as much as he could about it. Maybe even become a famous inventor, and change the world for the better!

His parents were so impressed by his ability to learn things and his desire to help people that they suggested that he should attempt to become the planetary High Commander. But he showed no interest at the time, preferring to stick with scientific experiments and inventions, though after much pressure from his parents, he applied anyway. After evolving, he also became interested in dating…although all of his attempts ended in failure.

At least, until the day he met Psyme, who also was in the running to become the next High Commander. By that point, though, he learned from all his past mistakes, and decided to try and focus on who she was as a person instead of be dazzled by her looks like everyone else. Although the fact that she was one of the few shinies on the planet made him extra cautious and honest in his attempts to learn more about her. And sure enough, it was just as he thought. She wasn’t nearly as superficial or flashy as her appearance would lead people to believe, and sure enough, he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

But when he told her his life story, she became very upset and ran away, making him worry and fret over what he did wrong. Thankfully, Psyme came back, and told him that she was so worried that he’d think badly of her for not being as deep a thinker as him. He reassured her that it was never the case at all; that he loved her the way she was. With that, and his proposal, she agreed to marry him.

They decided to put their goal of becoming High Commanders on hold, as they (especially Blune) decided that they would need more experience with such a demandingly important position, and chose to start a family instead. They had two children: Ligray and Rigley, and Blune loved them both very much.

Unfortunately for them, the time in which they had to become High Commanders came way sooner than they thought. A freak meteor had crashed into the ship that the previous High Commander was in, leaving the planet without a leader. Worse yet, Psyme realized that in the running for the next High Commander was her former fashion rival, O-Beema, and it looked like she had found a husband who was going to help her win.

Though only one person was needed to become the High Commander, Psyme asked for Blune's help, because that was the only way they could even the odds against O-Bem and O-Beema, who were clearly going for the job as a pair. If it was anyone else, he would have refused, but he loved Psyme so much that he agreed to help her. Together, with the new life experiences they gained, the two of them were able to pass both the Knowledge Tests and the Moral Quandary Tests with flying colors. But so did O-Bem and O-Beema (who probably cheated). There was only one test left; the Battle Test. Blune and Psyme knew they had to beat O-Bem and O-Beema no matter what. After a long, difficult battle, Blune’s newly-learned battle moves, honed by his knowledge about what worked and what didn’t in battle, helped Psyme defeat her rival once and for all, and together, they became the planet's new High Commanders.

Unfortunately, a piece of legislation left behind by the OLD High Commander said that, because of the planet's worsening condition, all kids had to attend the military academy in order for them to survive in the future. Including Ligray and Rigley. Blune, however, took it all in stride, almost as if he was expecting crazy stuff like this to happen as soon as they became the High Commanders. He was the one who helped support Psyme during this time period so that they could both govern the planet as best as they could.

He convinced her that they now have the power to take the planet in the right direction. Thanks to his research, he decided that now was the time to break Planet Paion's long-standing isolationist policy, and examine if the nearby Planet Portania was viable as a place where they could move. By the time Ligray and Rigley took the final tests, Blune and Psyme personally picked the two of them for this mission. Anywhere away from O-Bem and O-Beema was better in their eyes, no matter what.

They were initially frightened when it appeared that Ligray and Rigley had died, but thankfully, some friendly natives appeared to have gone WAY out of their way to save them. Blune and Psyme weren't that thrilled to know that O-Bem and O-Beema had decided to keep an eye on the kids, but what they could do? All they could do was prepare half of everyone on the planet for the big move.

Finally, the big day came, and the two of them personally led the fleet. En route, though, Ligray and Rigley, along with Amy and Chikorita, burst in to tell them that O-Bem and O-Beema were planning on turning this moving fleet into an invasion fleet that would surely turn into an all-out war that could leave many dead on both sides. Right then, though, O-Bem and O-Beema knocked them out and forcibly took the position of High Commander themselves. It galled Blune that, despite his amazing battle powers, he was powerless to stop them, but thankfully, Amy and Chikorita pulled through to blast O-Bem and O-Beema all the way to the moon. When Blune woke up, he let Psyme handle the kids while he took hold of the ship and reassure everyone that everything was back to normal.

Upon successfully moving to Planet Portania, Blune continued with Psyme to govern everyone effectively, until finally, the term as High Commanders came to an end. Confident that the new High Commander Jeena would do a good job, Blune then went back to doing what he did best: Experiments and inventions.

He was also getting concerned about Ligray, though, and wanted to make sure she was okay on her solo job as a Space Warrior. Though she kept telling him she was fine, he became suspicious after a while about whether she was telling the truth or not. When he couldn’t take it anymore, he personally went after her and found that, indeed, she wasn’t okay at all. But she refused to come back home, thinking that she absolutely had to finish her neverending mission no matter what. He had no choice but to battle her, and just barely won, dragging her back to the main ship in a daze. Upon his return, he asked Rigley to let him and Ligray back into the team in the hopes that if Ligray were around her friends again, she’d be happier again.

Today, he still does science experiments and inventions, especially those that help out his son or any of his son’s friends. And he sure likes doing it! Hopefully, he can keep an eye on Ligray, too.

:star: Current Personality: :star:

Blune is the type of guy who can be very serious whenever the situation requires him to be, such as when he’s the High Commander, and yet when he doesn’t have to be, he can be…well…rather silly. Although thankfully, even he thinks maniacal laughter is a little TOO over-the-top for a respectable scientist like him.

He is normally mild-mannered, kind, considerate, and more than happy to help people with their problems (within reason, of course). But he can also be rather bold and blunt with his words, especially when he feels like he needs to make a point. At the same time, having served as a High Commander, he has learned ways of being charismatic and appealing to large groups of people at once. It’s not something he feels he can call upon at will, but if the situation requires it, watch him go.

He also seems to have fewer qualms about personally studying people who aren’t Elgyems and Beheeyems, though considering how they’re all sentient beings, he does try to treat them with utmost respect.

Upon meeting someone for the first time, he’ll warmly smile and ask them their name, though at the same time, completely prepared for if they attack, respond rudely, etc., and has thought of a dozen different methods to deal with each possibility.

:star: Hobbies and Skills: :star:

:bulletgreen: Scientific experiments. Blune is one of the top scientists on the planet, and likes to find out anything he can about the natural world and how it works. He regularly conducts studies in his own personal laboratory.

:bulletgreen: Inventing things. Of course, Blune isn’t just content to study things—he also wants to make new inventions that’ll help improve people’s lives! He personally was responsible for Amy’s custom-made spaceship, the Puffball, as well as a certain device that will be revealed in Mission 8.

:bulletgreen: Watching musicals. One of the reasons he approves of Amy so much is because he secretly likes to watch any and all musical performances, which she’s very good at. It's his way of relaxing and unwinding after a hard day at the lab.

:bulletgreen: Shooting his Simple Beam at people who "disagree" with him. Because of his many successes in research and inventions, Blune has...quite a large ego. To make matters even more hilarious, his Simple Beam attack does more than just change the target's ability to "Simple"; it also turns them into a drooling moron who can't say anything but "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh..." Thankfully, this effect is only temporary.

:star: Life goals: :star:

To bring Ligray and Rigley up right, treat Psyme with love no matter what happens, help his son in all his future endeavors (even romance), make sure his daughter doesn’t hurt herself permanently, and above all, make both planets a better place.

:star: Trivia: :star:

:bulletgreen: Blune’s name comes from a certain Krill alien of the same name from the Game Boy Advance game Sigma Star Saga. And no, the in-game Blune and Psyme never even remotely showed any romantic interest in each other.

:bulletgreen: His character and Psyme’s were originally created to combine both the roles of the planetary High Commanders and Ligray and Rigley’s parents in an attempt to cut down on the sheer number of Beheeyem pairs that were being made at the time. Now, though, it seems that it was a convenient way to give their characters depth, as well as provide them with serious personalities while their real ones were being developed.

:bulletgreen: Whenever there’s a new piece of technology to be invented in my stories that doesn’t seem to be within the technological level of Tao World, Blune is the go-to guy who’s likely to figure out how to invent it! He’s awesome like that. :) Of course, it's just as likely that his cool new tech would have lots of bugs in them that need working out the first few times, so there's that, too.
Introducing the mad scientist super genius go-to guy of my characters, Blune the Beheeyem! But I'd also like it if I could work on him as a character instead of having him do nothing but churn out conveniently useful inventions.
