Evolutionary Meme - Amy Apirana Sumiura by Galactic-Rainbow Evolutionary Meme - Amy Apirana Sumiura by Galactic-Rainbow
Original meme by ChicoChikorita and Amy the Jigglypuff's application:

PoA Evolutionary Meme by ChicoChikorita Amy Apirana Sumiura - Pokemon of Avalon Member App by Amy-the-Jigglypuff

Just a cute short break from this streak of comics~. I'm not sure how Cecil got the idea for this meme (apparently it was just...a random idea?), but I'm glad he did, because it now gives me the excuse to experiment with "what would Amy look like at different evolutionary stages"? Yes, I've decided to design her both as an Igglybuff and as a Wigglytuff. While some of you older watchers might already have seen Amy as an Igglypuff in Shadows of Memories Part 1 and Part 2, I figured that an update was in order, because YEEEESH, her hair is too tiny for my tastes in those comics!

As for her Wigglytuff form, the story behind that is a lot more interesting. Normally I wouldn't dream of thinking about what Amy would look like as a Wigglytuff in a million years because for one, I don't plan on evolving her to begin with, for another, I just like the way Jigglypuffs look more than Wigglytuffs, and for a third, every time I've tried to draw her as one just made her end up like a hundred times crappier than her Jigglypuff form.

Turns out that when it comes to this sort of thing (or ANY character design), all you have to do to make a crappy design great and capture the spirit of the same character is to draw, draw, draw, draw, and try out as many ideas as you can! In fact, the exact same accessories that work perfectly well on Jigglypuff Amy look horrible on her Wigglytuff form due to the, ahem, elongated ears and body, so sometimes, there needs to be a change-up in accessories, and it wasn't until Cecil suggested just giving her those small bows on her ears like the ones on her wedding dress that I found a breakthrough. That, and basing her off of Mokona Modoki from the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle series wasn't a bad idea either~.

Thanks, Cecil! :XD: I'll probably still think about it some more if Amy will ever actually evolve, as I do like her as a Jigglypuff too. Guess we'll see what she decides later on~.

(And yeah, I've decided to give her the exact same central hair curl in both of these forms as her Jigglypuff form because I felt that curl style suited her by far the best.)

This is a totally random question that I just thought of when I saw this. Is Amy a shiny Pokemon? I was just asking because of the red/green eyes.

Technically, she *isn't* because I don't list her as shiny on her app, and people can't really be shiny in the group unless they're royalty or have a very good reason. The thing is, though, is that in many media such as Super Smash Bros. and stuff, as well as the anime itself, it...makes it difficult to determine the line dividing shiny Jigglypuff from non-shiny Jigglypuff. In other words, they pretty much look exactly the same.

And I actually asked this question to the PMD-E staff since I was unsure about whether Amy should be called a shiny or non-shiny Pokemon, and they said that since their colors were so similar and ambiguous, it was "up to me." So I'm saying that she isn't in both of these universes. XD

One thing: shouldn't Amy's Wigglytuff form have that white patch of fur starting between her eyes and mouth? (And on the tips of her ears?)

NORMAL Wigglytuff should. I've decided to leave those out for Amy's Wigglytuff form 1) to make her stand out from the usual Wigglytuff and 2) because those can be pretty annoying to draw. When making a character of a species, it's fun to think of stuff that would make sense for someone of their personality to have, and what would be left out.
