Of course, the real reason for Ellie's "slowness" in evolution compared to Joe was because I could see Joe evolving right away, but not Ellie. In story, though, Ellie felt she wasn't ready to handle...well...look at Panel 2. If Joe reacts this way seeing Ellie like that, just imagine how much MORE protective he'll be once he has an actual daughter of his own...

But yeah. He's thrilled that he doesn't have to baby her nearly as much anymore and can probably now kick major butt with her new moves and strength, yet at the same time, is very suspicious about why dudes with a Naughty nature seem attracted to her.
